Older adults and their families are increasingly seeking regular home health services to a greater extent that may reduce their sufferings, time and expenses. Even when living in their family home, seniors often require some specialized care and support. As more people are living longer and NCDs are increasing among elders requiring medical support, The dedicated home health aide professionals can assist elders and families with vital tests and monitoring health conditions ensuring their well-being. Home health aides also provide companionship where they can help seniors to open up more on their health concerns that they may not have shared with family members for fear of extra burden, alleviate family caregiver burnout, and offer emergency response, contributing to seniors’ safety, independence, and overall quality of life in the comfort of their familiar surroundings.

Married women settled in the village with children may get extra marks for the stability and continuity that they will bring to the job, but there are other factors that unmarried girls can outscore them.

SEHAT SEVA Abhiyan offers comprehensive training programs to equip workers with the necessary skills and knowledge through a 1-year university diploma and 6-months certificates in geriatric care, emergency medical technician and social entrepreneurship and volunteering ensuring a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by senior citizens. Alongside, trainees also complete a intensive learning in emergency medical technician, equipping them with essential medical skills that are crucial for providing immediate and effective care. It is the uniqueness and right mix of our combination of academic knowledge, practical training, and exposure to real healthcare settings that creates unique, competent and compassionate caregivers equipped to provide the highest quality of care and support to senior citizens in their communities.

2. Where will the training be organised and how many days a week?
This comprehensive training is enhanced through hands-on experience, where trainees engage in work integrated practical training within government healthcare facilities such as Primary Health Centers (PHC), Community Health Centers (CHC), Civil Hospitals, Ayush facilities and Zonal Hospital, Old Age Home, Senior Citizen’s Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation centre for 3-days a week. There will be a weekly theory class (online or a site close to your medical block office). There will be 2 days assignment within their own village every week. Sundays will be a holiday.

इस व्यापक प्रशिक्षण को व्यावहारिक अनुभव के माध्यम से बढ़ाया जाता है, जहां प्रशिक्षु सप्ताह में 3 दिन के लिए सरकारी स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं जैसे प्राथमिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्रों (पीएचसी), सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्रों (सीएचसी), सिविल अस्पतालों, आयुष सुविधाओं और जोनल अस्पताल, वृद्ध आश्रम, पुनर्वास केंद्र, आदि के भीतर एकीकृत व्यावहारिक प्रशिक्षण में संलग्न होते हैं। एक साप्ताहिक सिद्धांत कक्षा (ऑनलाइन या आपके मेडिकल ब्लॉक कार्यालय के नजदीक की साइट) होगी। हर सप्ताह में 2 दिन, प्रशिक्षु अपने गांव/वार्ड समुदाय के भीतर एक फील्डवर्क असाइनमेंट करेंगे। रविवार को छुट्टी रहेगी।
3. Are there opportunities for career growth and advancement within SEHAT SEVA Abhiyan?
Yes, SEHAT SEVA Abhiyan values the growth and development of its workers. Opportunities for career advancement and further skill enhancement are available as the initiative expands. The candidate can thereafter undertake 2nd and 3rd year courses to complete an advance diploma or graduation with special arrangements with the Training and Development department. The certified training, and experience will also be handy in case one has to relocate away.

4. Is there a minimum time to serve in SEHAT SEVA Abhiyan?
The selected candidates will be contracted to serve for a minimum contract time of 5 years after 1.5 years of training and traineeship. Otherwise they will need to refund Rs 30,000/- to SEHAT SEVA Abhiyaan that includes 12-months sponsored monthly stipend , free Social Entrepreneurship course, network support and and the pending Kaushal loan yojana dues on leaving.

1. Why should a candidate pay partly for her own professional training and certification? Is self-funded training worth the investment?
Absolutely. The self-funded training equips you with valuable skills and knowledge, positioning you for a rewarding career while contributing to the well-being of senior citizens. Any work or job will require a certified training. This opportunity is no different. Either we recruit people who have undergone their nursing and paramedical courses matching the job requirements that will cost close to Rs 2 lakhs for 2-years in current scenario thereby a cost of close to 2 lakh rupees. Herein, it has been subsidised by almost more than 50% and passed on the 50% cost to the candidates to seek their commitment and avoid attrition. Moreover, 80 % of this cost is covered under Kaushal loan yojana.

SEHAT SEVA Workers receive training, learning materials, uniform kits, medical instruments, a phone tab, and a monthly stipend of Rs 1000/- during the first year diploma. Ongoing support, mentorship, and access to a network of fellow workers are also provided. Moreover, your training and certification has been subsidised by almost more than 50% and this cost is covered under Kaushal loan yojana.

3. How much loan can a trainee avail? How?
SEHAT SEVA Abhiyan understands the financial commitment involved and offers a loan facility through the lead bank under PNB Kaushal Yojna. You can apply for a loan amount of up to Rs 72,000 with your ward or guardian as a co-applicant by visiting the bank and submitting a Kaushal loan yojna form along with copy of your selection letter of the SEHAT SEVA Abhiyan. Rest of the amouint of Rs 18736/- has to be managed by the trainee from personal/family funds or other arrangements.

Loan repayment will commence after 18 months, once you start earning as a trained SEHAT SEVA Worker. An affordable EMI of Rs 1,539 will be deducted from your monthly revenue after you start working and performing, ensuring a smooth repayment process.

5. Are there any additional costs during the training period?
No, not from the organisation side. In fact. during the training period, you will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 1,000 to assist with training-related travel and miscellaneous expenses. However, any additional costs beyond this stipend will be your responsibility.

Yes, you have the flexibility to choose whether to apply for a loan or pay the training expenses on your own. The choice is yours.

E – Earnings and Services Model / आय-कमाई और सेवा मॉडल:
1. How much can I earn during the training or after that?
During the training period, you will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 1,000. During the 1-year diploma, you will gradually start providing free services to 30 elders in need visiting them once a month. After 1-year, you will select 20 senior citizens from the previously served or new beneficiaries for home health aide services to get them registered at a basic subscription fee of Rs 200/- each. During this time your performance linked benefits / earnings can be maximum Rs 3,000 per month. You will mobilise to get atleast 60 elders registered under monthly subscribed geriatric home health aide services by the end of 18-months with the guidance and support of your assigned block / cluster coordinator and Community Mobilisation Coordinator. After 18 months, as a trained SEHAT SEVA Worker, you will expect to work atleast 5 to 6 hours a day for 5 to 6 days a week. SEHAT SEVA Workers can expect a net carry-home incentives based earning of around Rs 9,000 per month. With good work ethics and sincere work efforts one can then graduate to earn a monthly amount of Rs 12000 plus in about 3-years time.

The certified SEHAT SEVA Workers will work within their own local village panchayat or city wards. During training time it will be 9 am to 5 pm engagement 3-days a week. There will be exception whenever there is an in person class, i.e. about 1 day in 2-weeks. During the employment stage, about 5 to 6 hours a day is envisaged for 5 to 6 days a week.The workload and working hours can vary based on the needs of senior citizens and the services provided.
