PROJECT OUTLINE: SEHAT SEVA Abhiyan – Empowering Health Ambassadors for Elderly Care

Introduction: The SEHAT SEVA Abhiyan (Social-care Enhancement through Home-health Aide, Tele-health, Social Entrepreneurship, and Volunteer Action) is a trans-formative initiative that emerged during the COVID-19 Pandemic, recognizing the vulnerabilities of our elders. Driven by concerned individuals and organizations, the Abhiyan has pioneered innovative solutions in alignment with global, national, state, and local government policies, plans, and initiatives.
परिचय: सेहत सेवा अभियान (गृह-स्वास्थ्य सहायता, टेली-स्वास्थ्य, सामाजिक उद्यमिता और स्वयंसेवी कार्रवाई के माध्यम से सामाजिक-देखभाल संवर्धन) एक परिवर्तनकारी पहल है जो हमारे बुजुर्गों की कमजोरियों को पहचानते हुए, COVID-19 महामारी के दौरान उभरी है। संबंधित व्यक्तियों और संगठनों द्वारा संचालित, अभियान ने वैश्विक, राष्ट्रीय, राज्य और स्थानीय सरकार की नीतियों, योजनाओं और पहलों के अनुरूप अभिनव समाधानों का बीड़ा उठाया है।
Collaborative Partnership: In a historic union on 01 Oct 2020, AGEDcare (Association for Geriatrics and Eldercare Development) Kangra, the (IRCS branch) District Red Cross Society, Kangra, and EduCARE (Education and Community Applied Research Endeavours) at Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, converged their expertise. This alliance synergistically brought together EduCARE’s community-based eldercare project experience, AGEDcare’s medical and subject expertise, and the Red Cross’s mandate and representation of local administration and government.
सहयोगात्मक साझेदारी: 01 अक्टूबर 2020 को एक ऐतिहासिक संघ में, AGEDcare (एसोसिएशन फॉर जेरियाट्रिक्स एंड एल्डरकेयर डेवलपमेंट) कांगड़ा, (IRCS शाखा) जिला रेड क्रॉस सोसाइटी, कांगड़ा, और EduCARE (एजुकेशन एंड कम्युनिटी एप्लाइड रिसर्च एंडेवर) धर्मशाला, हिमाचल प्रदेश में , अपनी विशेषज्ञता को एकत्रित किया। यह गठबंधन सहक्रियात्मक रूप से एडुकेयर के समुदाय-आधारित एल्डरकेयर परियोजना अनुभव, एजेडकेयर की चिकित्सा और विषय विशेषज्ञता, और रेड क्रॉस के जनादेश और स्थानीय प्रशासन और सरकार के प्रतिनिधित्व को एक साथ लाया।
Project Inception: EduCARE took the helm for project design and implementation, culminating in the establishment of SEHAT SEVA Abhiyan from 2020 to 2021. This visionary initiative embarked on a mission to enhance social care through home-health aide, tele-health, social entrepreneurship, and volunteer action, placing a special emphasis on geriatric care.
परियोजना की शुरुआत: एजुकेयर ने परियोजना के डिजाइन और कार्यान्वयन की कमान संभाली, जिसकी परिणति 2020 से 2021 तक सेहत सेवा अभियान की स्थापना के रूप में हुई। इस दूरदर्शी पहल ने घरेलू-स्वास्थ्य सहायता, टेली-स्वास्थ्य, सामाजिक उद्यमिता के माध्यम से सामाजिक देखभाल को बढ़ाने के मिशन पर काम शुरू किया। और स्वयंसेवी कार्रवाई, वृद्धावस्था देखभाल पर विशेष जोर देती है।
Key Achievements: The project materialized as a beacon of hope, establishing a 12-room facility for free COVID care in Kangra by May 2021. This facility not only aligned with the Red Cross’s and government administration’s call but also initiated training for 24 dedicated COVID Warriors in collaboration with NSDC in September 2021. A series of meetings and discussions took place in 2021-2022 to refine the project’s trajectory.
मुख्य उपलब्धियाँ: यह परियोजना आशा की किरण के रूप में साकार हुई, मई 2021 तक कांगड़ा में मुफ्त कोविड देखभाल के लिए 12 कमरों की सुविधा स्थापित की गई। यह सुविधा न केवल रेड क्रॉस और सरकारी प्रशासन के आह्वान के अनुरूप है, बल्कि 24 समर्पित कोविड योद्धाओं के लिए प्रशिक्षण भी शुरू किया गया है। सितंबर 2021 में एनएसडीसी के सहयोग से। परियोजना के प्रक्षेप पथ को परिष्कृत करने के लिए 2021-2022 में बैठकों और चर्चाओं की एक श्रृंखला हुई।

Tri-Fortnight Initiative: Join us in celebrating the Tri-Fortnight for Senior Citizens from 21 Aug to 01 Oct 2023, where we’re launching the Phase 2 of our pilot project across three medical blocks of Shahpur, Tiara, and Nagrota Bagwan encompassing 189 village panchayat clusters and selected municipality wards. Under the banner of “SEHAT SEVA Abhiyan” dedicated health workers and compassionate community volunteers will visit the homes of the elderly, following the agenda set forth by the Worthy DC, Kangra, including and endeavour to form elderly Self Help Groups in every village Panchayat.

Expanding and Employing 412 SEHAT SEVA Workers in Aug-Sep 2023:
This is an opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a meaningful impact. To become a SEHAT SEVA Worker, two individuals will be selected from each village through a meticulous process. Online applications will be accepted, followed by in-person screening interviews conducted at the nearest Primary Health Centre or/and Block Medical Office.. Following successful integration in 3 medical blocks, we’re poised to expand to other areas next year, presenting a replicable, scalable, and sustainable government-engaged SESEP project model.
